How to post to the blog

Email: Simply email the current CQ editor, who will edit and publish a blog post for you.

Become a WordPress Editor, Author or Contributor:

  • Editor – an editor can publish, edit, and delete any posts/pages; moderate comments; manage categories, tags, and links; and upload files/images. Editors also have access to the blog stats.
  • Author – an author can edit, publish, and delete their posts, as well as upload files/images.
  • Contributor – a contributor can edit their posts but cannot publish them. When a contributor creates a post, it will need to be submitted to an administrator for review. Once a contributor’s post is approved by an administrator and published, however, it may no longer be edited by the contributor. A contributor does not have the ability to upload files/images.

If you already have a WordPress.com account:

  1. Request of the CQ editor via email that you be added as a user to the blog. Remember to include the email address you use for your WordPress.com account.
  2. You will be added as an editor, author, or contributor, as determined by your role as a blogger.
  3. You will then see the Council Quotes blog listed in your dashboard when you log in to WordPress.com.

If you do not have a WordPress.com account:

  1. Request of the CQ editor via email that you be added as a user to the blog. Remember to include the email address you wish to use for a WordPress.com account.
  2. You will receive an email inviting you to sign up for a WordPress.com account (and, optionally, create your own blog if you want).
  3. Once you have signed up, you will be listed as a user on the administrator’s tools.
  4. You will then see the Council Quotes blog listed in your dashboard when you log in to WordPress.com.
